Created by yours truly, for a rare event. The direction I received was to make it like the old school punk rock and hardcore flyers, back when screenprinters and photocopiers were the norm, before digital design took over. I think I did okay in that regard, though it’s a little more brutalist than I planned.
If I had a do over, I’d follow the design aesthetic of this Ten Yard Fight flyer from 1996: less visually chaotic and overall more bold, and maybe use the actual Waking Giants album cover art somewhere. I’d design it in real life, photocopy it, and take a photo of that, or scan it for the actual digital version. Even though people would be going to Google Maps for directions, I could draw out the venue location and surrounding streets, for extra analog flair.
