I’m not too keen on photos of myself, but Hot Metal Studio did a great job of making me appeal to…myself. The session was for the new book’s author photo, but this isn’t the one I’m going to use.
I’ve always noticed that session photogs won’t allow light to reflect off the shiny bald scalp. Mine shines and they always insist I turn my head this way and that until it looks pale and unreflective.

Mine is notoriously unshiny, so there wasn’t a need to adjust anything in the first place.
My elementary school principal had the shiniest head I’ve ever seen. We all thought he waxed it.
