My friend Seth W from the Social Media Escape Club is hosting a “Break Up With Social Media Day” video meet up, next month on Valentine’s Day. I’m going, although I’m not on social media at all (mostly):
On February 14, 2026, we’ll gather on Zoom to delete at least one social media app from our phone.
This is a group break up, together, in good company.
Sign up if you want to get away from social media.
Sign up even if you’ve already deleted the apps and/or accounts
Sign up if you’re curious about escaping social media
Sign up if you’ve re-installed the apps a dozen timesWe’ll come together, check in for 10 or so minutes, then we’ll delete a social media (or two).
Stick around and we’ll share your experiences with social media with other people on their own journeys.
This is hosted by me, Seth Werkheiser. I’ve been writing Social Media Escape Club since 2021. Find out more here.

Hmmm. Sounds very much like a shadow of Twelve Step thinking. Just a shadow, since I don’t detect any of the “you are an addict, too!”
I’m planning on going to it, even though I don’t have social media (mostly true). I’d like to hear what other people struggle with.
