Photos and Videos: Lake Williams, Hampton Beach, Jellyfish

Here are some photos and videos from a recent trip to Massachusetts.

Lake Williams in my hometown of Marlborough recently installed a walkway across the water, connecting one end the lake’s namesake trail to the other end. I didn’t know about the land-lubber part of the trail; I thought it was just a boardwalk, so we only prepared for just a boardwalk walk (boardwalkwalk? board walk walking?). I also didn’t know the loop was only 1.5 miles, which isn’t anything, so we could’ve walked it all, had I known.

Hampton Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. You can’t tell at all from the photos, but it was extremely crowded, but with some good timing and angles, I managed to make it look deserted.

The Great Boar’s Head promontory is in the distance there:

Facing away from the ocean, looking at the Sea Spray Hotel:

Later in the day, some clouds showed up:

In downtown Boston, with absolutely insane parking rates. Here is a fellow taking requests for . Most of them were anime opening and closing songs, and a few standards. Excellent business strategy, since it the selection is really for younger folks, and nearly all of them would have a dollar to spare. Since I’m a young Gen X guy, it felt safe to request “Tank!” from Cowboy Bebop, which came out smack dab during my undergraduate years, 1997/1998.

On State Street, looking south, down Broad Street:

At the Boston Aquarium, I made sure to video all of the jellyfish, because they’re my favorite. Devoid of brain, astronomical aesthetic, singular and otherworldly. All creation groans for the Creator:

Love the jellyfish video! I have always been fascinated by them. I remember getting stung when I was little when we lived on Saipan or maybe during our many stopovers in Hawaii.

The sax player is good…. enjoyed that. Roman has taught himself to play and is now showing that talent in the school band.
