At least in the two Xenoblade games, the night version of an area’s theme a more somber version of the day theme. Satorl Marsh’s night theme is unique in that it’s a completely different song than the day’s. I don’t play a lot of open world games that have the day/night mechanic, so I don’t know how common the area theme variation is.
I was torn between posting the song from the Wii version, the one that I had played, or the newer one (“Definitive Edition”/DE) on the Switch. I opted for the DE version because the wonderful clarinet melody is brighter. I did like the feel of the chorus in the original version, though, as the women’s voices had a slightly richer, deeper sound that you don’t normally come across. The two versions are in the same key, so it was likely a characteristic of the vocalists and/or an aspect of the production.
The area in the game at night is really something to see, to boot.

The orchestration reminds me a lot of the “Summoning of Spirits – Overclocked Remix” I found a long time ago. I use a random collection of that stuff to block out noise and help me concentrate when I’m in a noisy environment.
Is that from a game or a certain artist? Youtube is just giving me Elden Ring results *eyeroll*
Not much of it on YT, and probably as “OC Remix”. It’s 3 or 4 albums worth of MP3s on a separate website that should show up on a regular search engine.
This seems like what you’re talking about, right?
