The Purple Door Fest doesn’t happen any more, but I went to two of them with a press pass. There were too many bigger bands to pass something like that up.
The ones of Beloved are the best out of the three, because I could get better shots from the side of the stage as opposed to the security pit in the front. Their album Failure On consistently solid all the way through and still holds up after 16+ years. It’s my “perfect sound” rock album: crystalline production with just a hint of raw dirtiness, recorded before the modern era of sterile guitars, no bass, fake-sounding drums, and hard-auto-tuned vocals. It’s a shame they broke up without releasing more. However, it looks like they got back together if their Facebook page is any indication. Huzzah!
Most of the “>Further Seems Forever photos were bad, because it was night, I wasn’t on stage, and I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to photography.
