A Traditional Japanese Rock Metal Nagasaki Tsunami

Just when I thought everything in music had already been done, this comes along and drowns that idea in an ocean of wasabi. I want to burrow into their discography and nestle there until Shogun is ported to Xbox One (which will never happen).

They have another video where they play atop a stratospheric tower, serenading a flying dragon. This band is ridiculous.

I have to agree that is quite a combination of styles. I had no clue about the lyrics, but was intrigued by the lead’s use of traditional style singing regardless. The whole performance does call out to you, even if you don’t like heavy metal.

Both the video I embedded and the linked video have English subtitles. I have no idea whether the traditional parts of their songs are actual heritage Japanese folk songs, or it’s something of their own devising. Regardless, their lyrics tend toward nature and sensing it. It’s thoroughly pagan but they have a strong connection to creation regardless.
